Mercier Lake Lodge offers a wide range of fly-fishing opportunities for anglers to catch trophy Brook Trout and Northern Pike. We have small stream fishing (walk & wade), river fishing (both boat & wading), and lake fishing from boats. Mercier Lake has numerous gravel and sand flats, often near small cold-water streams flowing into the lake, that attract cruising Brook Trout who are hunting minnows and aquatic insects. Depending upon weather conditions, we usually have good dry fly fishing at the end of June and through July during the main hatches of mayflies and caddis. For subsurface fishing, the Brook Trout are very aggressive hunters of minnows, sculpin and leeches. Mercer Lake even has freshwater shrimp (Gammarus) which the trout will eat throughout the year. Anglers will need to bring a combination of dry flies, nymphs, emergers and streamers to fish for the Brook Trout.
